Texas Independence Relay Info

The Texas Independence Relay is composed of 40 relay legs of various lengths, totaling over 200 miles. The course starts in Gonzales, TX, where the Texas Revolution began, and it finishes at the San Jacinto Monument, where Texas Independence was won!

The relay will run from March 7th - 8th.

8 original Waiting for Runs Relay members will be returning (we will miss abelisle, the Foos, & Mystery runner)

This time, we will up the challenge and have 9 runners in a luxurious 15 passenger van. This means no resting time for the 2nd van.

Keep an eye out here for updated info and up to the minute updates.

The relay bag - a checklist of what to bring

So, with a little less than a week until race day, it is time to start looking at what to pack while we run the relay. While packing a relay bag you must remember a few things.
1) you will be out on the road for anywhere between 18 hours to 36 hours.
2) depending on the relay you will be running at least 3 times during the relay.
3) you will be sharing a confined space with other relay members.
4) you may be running in unfamilar locations.
5) you may encounter unpredictable weather.
6) there may be limited space on the van. You will need to shuffle up to 6 bags and 6 people, and provisions for 6 people. Pack light, but make sure you pack everything you will need.
7) have fun!!

This list is by far not a comprehensive list. When packing remember that space limitations may hinder what you bring.

you could add reflective vest or reflective gear if you are bringing it in addition to the lights.
